Oral presentations
- 15 minutes in total — 12 minutes for the talk and 3 minutes for questions. Speakers who run over lose their own discussion time rather than the next speaker’s slot.
- Accepted formats: PowerPoint (.pptx), PDF and Prezi. Both 16:9 and 4:3 are accepted; 16:9 fills the screen best.
- Hand your file to the technician in the session room in good time — at the latest during the break before your session, and earlier if you can. Please do not arrive with the file at the start of your own talk.
- If your slides contain video or audio, allow extra time and test the file with the technician in advance.
- Be in the session room before the session starts, so everything can be checked without delaying the programme.
- Focus on a few key messages rather than dense slides, and use a readable type size with good contrast — the back row is further away than it looks.
